Choosing a clay body for winter

Cold studio, slow drying, cracked rims. I switched to a groggier body that forgives the temperature swings and my own impatience. Notes on wedging, water, and why I stopped rushing the leather-hard stage.
I make stoneware in a small studio: mugs that fit the hand, bowls that stack, a few pieces that only exist to test a glaze. This site is where I keep process notes, kiln logs, and the occasional batch that's ready to leave the shelf. Making is slow on purpose — I'd rather finish six honest pots than forty rushed ones.
Studio notes on ceramics, slow making, and things built by hand. I tend to return to the same subjects more than once; the second pass is always slower, and better.
